Question:

Rick, my husband recently told me that he doesn't believe that anyone can ever really put himself in another's shoes and feel what she is feeling. I have been dealing with discovery and trickle truth for almost 4 years. What if your spouse is incapable of empathy for you and gets angry and verbally abusive when you bring up a question about his affairs? Thank you.

I don't ask many questions

I don't ask many questions now, but the ones I do ask are deep questions, such as "have you discovered the real reason you chose to have affairs, instead of the justifications you have been using as your reasons?" His therapist has told him that he does not have to answer any more questions if he has already answered them once. He gets very angry when I ask a repetitive question. So I have resolved to ask no more questions. I realize that this will inhibit healing, but it's not worth the emotional abuse he dishes out.
