Question:

In a recent Q&A video, you mentioned that sometimes you send ministers (I am one) who have a lying addiction to AA for 90 meetings in 90 days. Would going to other 12-Step meetings other than AA be beneficial? I am presently in EMB's 12-Step program and using it solely for sex addiction, which meets by phone one time per week. I could see myself also attending Overeaters Anonymous and/or Sex Addicts Anonymous, as I have addictions in both of those issues. However, my wife says that attending those meetings would muddy the water for the lying focus since I would naturally be interested in those topics. I could go to Celebrate Recovery but there are only two meetings per week and my wife feels strongly that I need something as intensive as the 90 meetings in 90 days. She is basically giving me an ultimatum to a rehab type life for three months or marital separation because the trust level is severely deficient in our 19 year marriage and she feels like she is at the end of being able to handle it (She took your advice and is attending Al Anon). What are your thoughts for attending the other 12-Step programs to conquer lying?
