Question:

It has become more and more evident that my unfaithful husband’s main focus is saving the marriage not actually figuring out why he did what he did and changing his behaviors. He freely admits he lacks empathy, still hides behind shame, and claims he does not know how he justified his behavior. He still tells me all the time that I don't have to worry because he will Never betray me again which just pisses me off and causes me to panic. We have done all the programs offered here and private counseling. Without him digging to the bottom of his issues I don't know if I will ever feel safe in this marriage. We are almost 3 year post d-day but only 2 years with quality help. Thanks for any input.

Feeling Safe

I understand that from the video I am to work on myself so that I don't have to depend on my husband to feel safe. But isn't that part of marriage? The other spouse should provide a safe environment? How do I just not depend on my spouse for safety when it was his actions that got us where we are now?
